PLYMOUTH LIB-DEMS SUPPORT THE CITY’S ‘UK CITY OF CULTURE 2029’ BID.

Plymouth Liberal Democrats are delighted to support Plymouth’s bid to become ‘UK City of Culture 2029’.

This year-long celebration of arts and culture will give Plymouth the opportunity to show the strength of its cultural scene and everything that makes the Ocean City special.

The city already boasts the multi-award winning Arts University, one of the UK’s most successful regional theatres in the Theatre Royal, and The Box, winner of a 2022 European Museums of the Year award.  The arts and culture scene gathers further strength from its communities and its world-wide links.

This city, already renowned for its unique maritime history, magnificent views, multi-cultural, nautical and food festivals, is now perfectly placed to become the first city in the south to be the UK’s City of Culture.
